morgan coffey, Med, PLPC
Morgan Coffey is a Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC under supervision) in Missouri, and holds a Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Missouri–St. Louis (UMSL). She has experience working with adults and adolescents surrounding trauma and post traumatic stress (PTSD), relationship issues, intimate partner violence, anxiety, depression, life transitions, and more. Morgan’s work is trauma-informed, and combines elements of person-centered and internal family systems (IFS) approaches.
Morgan is warm and down-to-earth — she meets clients right where they are, and in turn, clients feel the freedom to be authentic and share about their experiences. In time, this symbiotic partnership establishes safety and support within counseling, while also emphasizing client autonomy and empowerment in exploration — clients find that they are held and challenged at the same time.
In addition to her counseling role, Morgan also serves as Adjunct Clinical Support (ACS) at Change, Inc., meaning it’s her job to help support the many behind-the-scenes details that keep our clinical work running smoothly and our clients well cared for. Working alongside our Clinical and Client Liaison Teams, Morgan helps with client communication and follow-up, coordination of important clinical processes, documentation, onboarding, and other pieces of the client experience that can easily fall through the cracks. In short, her ACS role helps us maintain the unusually high degree of personal attention and care that we believe should surround the counseling relationship itself.
“It’s no secret that facing what’s been troubling you in counseling can be daunting, so it’s normal to feel nervous or worried about coming. Don’t let that stop you! Our relationship itself will ease that transition, and I will help you. It really is possible to work on things that have previously felt unreachable or inaccessible — the very things that are probably bringing you to counseling in the first place. It won’t always be easy, but together we will come to an understanding of all your parts and experiences, and even discover and grow what makes make you, you!”
