Laura Brackett is P-Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Missouri. She holds a Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Missouri–St. Louis (UMSL), ranked second in the nation of all counselor education programs. Laura has previously worked with adults, children, and adolescents on a wide variety of issues ranging from sexual assault to anxiety to job transitions and more.
Laura believes that people have experiences, beliefs, and relationships that profoundly impact their worlds. She works collaboratively with clients to form trusting and judgement-free relationships that enable them to explore the way these things have shaped their lives, and ultimately, to empower healthy changes toward healing and wholeness. She enjoys working with clients who are recovering from trauma, transitioning into new phases of life, or are looking for a supportive ally as they find their space in the world (including LGBTQ+ identity-related issues).
“Counseling is a time to be able to explore, heal, and grow. Because your own unique strengths and values form the foundation for doing so, I want to partner with you to create a safe space to challenge ways of living that no longer serve you. Together, we will discover that you are brave enough to make changes that help enhance your life.”
A Favorite Quote from Jodi Picoult:
“Maybe who we are isn’t so much about what we do, but rather, what we’re capable of when we least expect it.”
