Christina Warden is a P-Licensed Professional Counselor (supervisor) in the State of Missouri. She holds a Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Missouri–St. Louis (UMSL), ranked second in the nation of all counselor education programs. She has previous mental health and counseling experience in a variety of settings, including community mental health, substance-abuse treatment, university, women’s health, and psychiatric care/rehabilitation.
Christina has a particular interest in working with people harmed by oppressive relationships or larger oppressive systems, and this naturally results in work with diverse people groups in terms of race, gender, sexual orientation (including LGBTQ+ issues), nationality, ethnicity, and socioeconomic status, but also relationship style, ability level, brain type, or other cultural identities. Christina enjoys working with both the complexities of troublesome thinking, feeling, behaviors, and relationships, as well as ordinary, day-to-day life struggles. Her warm, empathetic and empowering approach includes creative elements of mindfulness and humor.
“Being human isn’t easy, and it typically involves a lot suffering. My sincere hope is to join with you, and to help you not only endure that suffering, but eventually move through it to a new freedom and peace. I find that everything in our lives is interconnected. Correspondingly, we benefit from attuning ourselves to the role that things like relationships, environment, and power and privilege play in shaping our experiences. When we are able to see more clearly in this way, we uncover new truths and transformative power. I hope to be with you each step of the way.”
A favorite quote from Nisargadatta Maharaj:
“A spark of truth can burn up a mountain of lies.”
